About Don

A Hoosier by birth, Donald received his academic training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, studying under Bill Parks. As a young man, he applied those talents and energies to the burgeoning advertising agency world of Michigan Avenue in the same city, where he spent the next twenty years of his career developing advertising campaigns for major corporations.

In spite of those early successes, Donald’s faith eventually led him to Willow Creek Community Church where he became a set designer and builder for the Church’s theatrical productions, a role that coalesced his creative and spiritual souls.

He never abandoned his love of painting and now pursues that passion full time from his studio in Wauconda, Illinois. He is the proud father of three sons.

Painting daily has become a way of life for me. My faith is guiding me into a wondrous adventure that influences everything I do. Can I share this joy with you?”
